Woman Found Dead Near Trail In Waretown Is ID'd
A Seaside Heights woman is the person whose body was found near the Barnegat Branch Trail in Waretown on Friday, authorities said.

WARETOWN, NJ — Authorities have identified a woman whose body was found near the Barnegat Branch Trail in Waretown on Friday.
The woman was identified as Megan Campana, 41, whose last known address was in Seaside Heights, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said Monday.
An autopsy performed Saturday by the Ocean County medical examiner’s office determined her identity, he said. The cause and manner of death are pending toxicology results.

Her body was found Friday in a wooded area of the trail near Country Line Road in Waretown, Billhimer said. Ocean Township police were notified about 1:30 p.m. Friday about an unresponsive woman near the trail, and found her dead.
Campana’s death was labeled suspicious when authorities began investigating on Saturday, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit, Ocean Township Police Department, Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit and Ocean County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating.
