Crystal Plaza In Livingston Planning ‘Over-The-Top’ Renovation

The family that owns Crystal Plaza in Livingston has weathered national tragedies before. They'll survive the coronavirus too, they say.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The family that owns Crystal Plaza Group in Livingston has weathered tragic national circumstances before, such as the September 11 attacks and Hurricane Sandy. And by relying on each other – as well as their staff – the 103-year-old business will also survive the coronavirus crisis, they say.

Founded in 1917, the luxury catering and event production company is currently helmed by four members of the Janoff family, who say the business isn’t only surviving – it’s growing.

“This year’s COVID-19 pandemic has unfortunately led to some postponed events, but the team at Crystal Plaza will ensure they are ready as soon as possible to host events for the next 100 years to come,” the family stated in a news release.

Part of the strategy, ironically, includes expansion.

Max Janoff, managing partner at Crystal Plaza, shared some details about a big project at their space at 305 West Northfield Road in Livingston. When complete, the renovation will include a new penthouse bridal salon, a men’s club, an atrium ceremony space and a “grand walkway.”

“Not only will we be creating additional elegant space – nearly 10,000 square feet – we are creating a totally new state-of-the-art atmosphere with the hottest trends in natural light,” Janoff said.

“There will be wide-open windows facing our three-acre gardens and atrium-style glass ceilings,” Janoff continued, adding that the renovation will include “over-the-top accommodations” that resemble those seen in a private mansion.
