Driver From Short Hills Hits 3 Cars In Livingston: Police

A Toyota Camry crossed over a cement island on a busy local road. A person was hurt in the resulting crashes, Livingston police said.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A driver from Short Hills collided with several cars in Livingston last week, at one point traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of a busy local road, police said.

According to the Livingston Police Department, the incident took place on Tuesday, July 23 when Constantine Grivoyannis, 28, was driving his 2012 Toyota Camry near South Orange Avenue and JFK Parkway.

Grivoyannis crossed over a cement island and traveled southbound in the northbound lanes of JFK Parkway from South Orange Avenue. He collided with three cars, police said: a 2017 Land Rover, a 2017 VW Jetta and a 2014 Nissan Altima.

Grivoyannis initially failed to stop after the collisions and continued south on JFK Parkway. He returned to the scene as police officers arrived, authorities said.

Emergency responders transported the 43-year-old driver of the Land Rover to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers determined that the collisions were an “intentional act” and charged Grivoyannis with multiple counts of assault, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was also charged with multiple motor vehicle offenses, authorities said.

The charges were referred to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
