Fourth of July Celebration Set for Friday at the Oval
Festivities begin at 9 a.m. and culminate with a fireworks show at 9:15 p.m.
The annual Fourth of July celebration returns to the Memorial Oval on Friday.
The festivities begin at 9 a.m. Friday with a car show at Livingston High, followed by a ceremony at Haines Pool at 10 a.m. The activities continue throughout the day and include pony rides, mini golf, music, entertainment by Livingston Leo and more.
The day culminates with a fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.
Rain may dampen the festivities with an 80 percent chance of precipitation on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
Daytime shows will be held in the Livingston High auditorium and all other daytime activities will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
Afternoon and evening performances will go on as scheduled on the covered stage at the Oval.
A decision will be made by 2 p.m. Friday if the fireworks will be postponed due to weather. Call 973-535-7925 to find out if the fireworks have been postponed. The rain date is Saturday at 9:15 p.m.
