Holidays In Livingston: Closures, Trash Schedule, Shuttle

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The following news release comes courtesy of Livingston Township. Learn more about posting announcements or events to your local Patch site.

The Township of Livingston reminds residents of holiday closures and changes to the garbage and recycling collections schedules at the end of the year:

Christmas

All township offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, for Christmas Day.

Wednesday, December 25 – Christmas Day: No garbage or recycling pickup.

Garbage for those with Wednesday/Saturday pickup will be collected on the next regularly scheduled day, which is Saturday, December 28.

Recycling collection will move forward one day all week per the normal holiday schedule:

• Zone 3 will be picked up on Thursday, December 26
• Zone 4 on Friday, December 27
• Zone 5 on Saturday, December 28

There will be no metal collection on Friday, December 27.

Livingston Express Shuttle

The Livingston Express Shuttle will operate on the Pre-Holiday Schedule to correspond with NJ Transit’s “Early Get Away” service on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, 2019.

There will be no Shuttle service on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25. The regular schedule will be in effect on December 26 and 27.

New Year’s Day

All Township offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, for New Year’s Day.

Wednesday, January 1 – New Year’s Day: No garbage or recycling pickup.

Garbage for those with Wednesday/Saturday pickup will be collected on the next regularly scheduled day, which is Saturday, January 4.

Recycling collection will move forward one day all week per the normal holiday schedule:

• Zone 3 recycling will be picked up on Thursday, January 2
• Zone 4 on Friday, January 3
• Zone 5 on Saturday, January 4

The annual Township Reorganization Meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 1, 2020.
