Livingston High School Names David Cohen New Athletic Director
Longtime coach will replace retiring Patrick Genova at the end of the school year.

Livingston High School has found its next Director of Athletics on its home turf.
LHS administrators recently named David Cohen as the school’s new athletic director. According to a release, Cohen is a longtime coach and coordinator of the Career Internship Program at LHS.
Cohen will replace Patrick Genova, who is retiring at the end of this school year after 14 years as LHS athletic director.

“It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of the five previous athletic directors,” stated Cohen. “I am very excited to both represent, and work with the student athletes and coaches in Livingston, and hope to have as much of an impact as each of the previous athletic directors did.”
The position garnered wide interest, according to LHS Principal Mark Stern.

“When you’re looking for the absolute best, sometimes they’re right in your own backyard,’ stated Stern. “Dave [Cohen] has a love for sports, love for children, love for this town, and being a Lancer.”
Cohen’s appointment was approved by the Livingston Board of Education on March 23.
According to a release, Cohen was named Teacher of the Year at LHS in 2012. He is currently the lead teacher for the school’s life skills-based co-op program, and organizes interactions between students and more than 30 different community organizations and businesses.
Cohen received his master’s as Teacher of the Handicapped from New Jersey City University, and a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies Administration from Virginia Wesleyan College.
