Livingston Native Named New GM Of Cleveland Indians

The Cleveland Indians promoted Livingston native Michael Chernoff to general manager.

Baseball fans in Livingston can chalk up a “HR” on their scorecards.

That’s because the Cleveland Indians have promoted of their own to one their top administrative positions… Michael Chernoff.

The Indians announced the move on Tuesday.

Chernoff, 34, has been with the Indians for 12 seasons, serving as Antonetti’s assistant GM since October 2010.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he has an A.B. degree in economics from Princeton University.

Chernoff, who is from Livingston, played shortstop for the Princeton Tigers baseball team.
