“An avid golfer, she was a member of The Blue Heron Pines GC Ladies Golf Association often competing in inter club matches. She participated with friends in numerous golf benefits including VIM and Rally for the Cure, serving as co-chair person for the Rally held at Blue Heron Pines in 2011. For many years Terry enjoyed her role as a volunteer at The Shop Rite LPGA at Seaview. Her passion for golf took her to many golf venues including The Masters, PGA/LPGA Tournaments, US Women’'s and Men’'s Opens. Terry, along with her husband and friends, traveled to Scotland to watch The Ryder Cup in 2014. But her greatest travels took her to the soccer fields, tracks, gymnasiums and dance recitals to watch her grandchildren. Terry would go anywhere, any time to watch them compete and this perhaps was her greatest reason to endure.
“Terry is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles; daughter Heather Richards, son in law Dave, of Annandale NJ; daughter Leigh MacPherson and son in law Chad of Midlothian, VA; brother Stephen West and his wife Lina of Tuscon; brother Dave of Butler, NJ and Port Charlotte, FL; sister Toni and her partner Lisette Mendez of Dallas, TX; and her beloved grandchildren Gavin and Brooke Richards and Charlie and Molly MacPherson. Terry also will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews including her favorites, Alexis and Mateo Mendez from Dallas.
“In lieu of flowers, donations to Life is Good Kids Foundation or Children of Newton Memorial Fund.”
