Livingston Police Warn Residents: Lock Your Homes, Cars

Police in Livingston are offering an old but still-relevant warning for local residents: lock up.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Police in Livingston are offering an old but still-relevant warning for local residents: lock up.

On Sunday, the Livingston Police Department issued the following advisory:

“It’s been a while since we put out a reminder. Please remember to lock your cars and houses at night and please remove your key fobs from your cars. Area departments are beginning to see thieves finding unlocked cars in driveways and using the garage remotes to enter the garages looking for cars. Some are even brazen enough to then enter the house looking for keys and wallets. Most of the thefts are happening during the overnight hours, but we did have a few during daylight.”
