Livingston Residents Can Make Tax, Utility Payments On Internet

The new capability allows residents to make payments quickly & easily from home or a mobile device for a small convenience fee of 35 cents.

From the Township of Livingston: Livingston residents now have the option to pay their tax and water/sewer bills online by either electronic check (eCheck) or credit card. The new capability allows residents to make payments quickly and easily from home or a mobile device for a small convenience fee of 35 cents per eCheck, rather than having to pay by mail or in person.

“Residents can now save time and trips to Town Hall, for less than the price of a stamp,” said Vibha Desai, Tax Collector for the Township of Livingston.

To pay online, visit livingstonnj.org/finance/taxcollector. Find the “Pay Online” section in the top right corner of the page.

Under “Pay Online,” there are three links to (1) make tax payments by eCheck, (2) make utility payments by eCheck, and (3) make tax and utility payments by credit card.

The first two links will take residents to Livingston’s Cit-e-Net pages, titled “Online Tax Payments” and “Online Water/Sewer Payments” at the top, respectively. Both pages provide a list of six steps that explain the easy eCheck payment process, including opportunities to review the bill and payment before submitting.

After reading the steps, click on the “Begin Tax Payment” button to start the payment process.

The third link under “Pay Online” allows residents to pay by credit card and leads to the Official Payments website. Click on “Local Payments” to pay a tax or utility payment by credit card, and use Jurisdiction Code 4071.

There, select New Jersey from the State or Territory dropdown menu and “Livingston, Township of” as the Payment Entity. The Payment Type menu provides two options: Real Property Taxes and Water Sewer Bill.

For tax payments, Official Payments charges a convenience fee of 2.5% of the agency payment amount, with a minimum of $2.00 per transaction. For utility payments up to a total of $600, the convenience fee for a credit card transaction is $5.95.

Both the eCheck and credit card payment methods are quick and convenient, and the new eCheck option costs less than sending the payment by mail.
