Livingston School Budget Awaits Final Public Hearing

Here's how the proposed 2021-2022 school budget would impact local homeowner's taxes.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Board of Education touched on the proposed 2021-2022 school budget during their meeting on Monday.

As per the usual budgeting process, the district is still awaiting feedback from the county office, officials said.

According to a recent presentation from the district, the proposed budget is $1,435,901 below the allowable cap permitted by the state department of education.

The tax impact is $87 to the school portion of a local homeowner’s property taxes, based on the average assessed Livingston home of $700,000. Other components of local property taxes include municipal and county levies.

Another public hearing on the budget is scheduled for the board’s meeting on Tuesday, May 4.
