Livingston Softball Team Competes In Little League World Series: Report

A team of 13 Livingston area youth athletes recently made township history, a report says.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A team of 13 Livingston area youth athletes recently made township history when they became the first softball team to compete in the Little League World Series tournament, a report says.

According to The West Essex Tribune, Livingston Little League baseball teams have participated in the annual World Series tournament since the late 1950s, but this year was the first time that a township softball team competed.

While the team didn’t advance in the tournament, their performance made their hometown proud, according to Livingston Public Schools administrators, who congratulated the athletes on Facebook.
