LIVINGSTON, NJ — Buckle up, Livingston. The winter of 2021 isn’t done with the township, yet.

The recent turn of weather comes after multiple storms in the past weeks, which have dumped snow across the area.

In Livingston, all non-emergency offices were closed on Thursday.

"The township advises residents to avoid traveling during and immediately after the snow if possible," officials said. "Keep vehicles off of streets until well after the storm when all plowing has been completed. Stay off of roads to allow plows and emergency vehicles to pass through as safely as possible."

In the event of an emergency, residents should call 911, Livingston officials said.

Livingston officials said residents should also shovel out and clear snow from:

  • fire hydrants on or near their property
  • sewer grates near their property
  • sidewalks on their property with 48 hours of the end of the snowfall

"Our Department of Public Works employees started working before the storm, brining and salting roads," Livingston officials said. "They will continue working until all roads have been cleared. Depending on the amount of snow, clearing the roads could take a while."

Here’s the latest forecast for Livingston, according to the National Weather Service:

Thursday - Snow. High near 27. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Thursday Night - Snow. Low around 26. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Friday - Snow, mainly before 3pm. High near 33. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. Northeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Friday Night - A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before 9pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 24. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Saturday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Northwest wind 7 to 14 mph.

Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 18.

Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 34.

Sunday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.
