Livingston Students Collect $4K For Coronavirus Relief In India
Elementary and middle schoolers from Livingston started a fundraiser and collected more than $4,000 to help their neighbors in India.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A group of students from Livingston recently pulled together more than $4,000 to help relieve the effects of the coronavirus pandemic in India.
A deadly surge of COVID-19 infections ripped through India in April and May, killing more than 180,000. It has since tapered off, with new cases declining. But the relief could be fleeting as a significant amount of the population is still reluctant to get the shots, the Associated Press reported Monday.
In order to help their neighbors in India, elementary and middle schoolers from Livingston started a fundraiser and collected more than $4,000 for various charities focused on COVID-19 relief in the nation.

Part of their efforts included a bake sale that they organized in late May at the Oval. The event saw more than 200 people turn out in support.
The bake sale was done under guidance and mentorship of their parents, organizers said. Participants included:
