Mediterranean Restaurant Opens Livingston Location

"Livingston was ideal for us in terms of demographics," the restaurant's owners said about their new location.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A Westwood favorite has arrived in Livingston: Mezza Mediterranean.

The popular restaurant, which also has a location in Westwood, recently hosted a ribbon-cutting to celebrate its official opening at The Shoppes at the Livingston Circle at 277 Eisenhower Parkway in Livingston. (Learn more about this local business here)

Mezza’s owners said that The Shoppes at the Livingston Circle, situated at the intersection of Route 10 and Eisenhower Parkway, was an ideal choice business-wise.

“This is an up-and-coming area and new businesses like The Container Store, Shake Shack and Starbucks are generating a lot of traffic on Eisenhower Parkway,” said Vincent Leone, who, along with Yarden Levinson, is one of the owners behind Mezza Mediterranean’s success in Westwood.

“Livingston was ideal for us in terms of demographics, and although there is a lot of new business development in the area we didn’t see much in the way of competition,” Leone said. “We have worked well together as partners over the last five years and know what has and hasn’t worked in the past. We made sure to hit all of the key checkpoints before choosing this location.”

According to its owners, the space received a head-to-toe makeover that included a new, “top of the line” kitchen, imported Spanish floor tiles, Moroccan decor and “sleek, modern furnishings.” The menu features the restaurant’s signature cuisine – “authentic Mediterranean with a modern touch” – with an emphasis on “sourcing the freshest possible ingredients available year-round.”

Price points are similar to those in Westwood, Leone said.

In addition to Mezza Mediterranean, The Shoppes’ newest tenants include Club Pilates, Goldfish Swim School and CycleBar. Aldi, the fast-growing supermarket chain, will open in late summer or early fall in the space formerly occupied by The Fresh Market, and Fitness 1440 and Moxi Blowdry & Beauty are coming soon, according to Eastman Companies.
