NCJW/Essex Holds Symbolic Walk on Oct. 2 to Honor RBG

Walk was one of many held nationwide in memory of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg

NCJW/Essex honored the memory of Ruth Bader Ginsberg on Friday, October 2, with a symbolic walk around the NCJW/Essex office building in Livingston, as part of many walks being taken that day by other organizations and Jewish communities nationwide.

More than 20 people gathered at the NCJW/Essex office for a group reading reflecting on Justice Ginsberg's many accomplishments and contributions throughout her life in support of equality and women's rights, followed by a walk to mark the close of shiva, the traditional Jewish mourning period, and the return to the world.

Stephanie Abrahams, NCJW/Essex Director of Advocacy and Community Engagement, encouraged all to "take that energy and honor Justice Ginsburg today by saying thank you to her for what she did for our country and then by rolling up our sleeves and continuing her work."
