Photographer With Livingston Roots Writes Book On Rock And Roll
Former Livingston resident Robert Heimall has worked with The Doors, Carly Simon, James Brown and John Lennon.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — From the psychedelia of The Doors’ “Weird Scenes Inside the Gold Mine” to the austere beauty of Carly Simon’s “No Secrets,” the world of rock and roll owes a thank you to former Livingston resident Robert Heimall.
As an award-winning artist, art director, designer and photographer, Heimall designed the album covers for some of the music industry's finest, working with iconic artists such as James Brown and John Lennon, in addition to The Doors and Carly Simon.
Now, Heimall – who has called Livingston his home multiple times in his life – has released a book about his exploits within the music industry: “Cover Stories: Tales of rock legends and the albums that made them famous.”
