Seven Locals Run NJ Marathon, 11 Finish Half
The 2013 New Jersey Marathon at the shore took place this past weekend in Long Branch with 17 Livingston locals participating.

More than 11,000 runners participated in this year's New Jersey Marathon in Long Branch this past weekend, where seven Livingston residents ran the marathon and 11 finished the half.
Oz Pearlman, 30, of New York, won the marathon on May 5 with a time of 2:28:23. Finishing behind Pearlman was Eddie Valentine, 33, of Arlington, VA, with a time of 2:36:35. In the woman category, Elizabeth Drews, 43, of Warren, finished with a time of 3:00:11.
The top finishing local in the marathon, Michael Wilson, 35, finished in the top-20 percent in 418th place with a time of 3:36:10.

Just as impressive, 41-year-old  Edward Steinberg finished the half-marathon in 310th place out of 5,350 participants with a time of 1:39:28.
