Thanksgiving In Livingston: Officials Issue Coronavirus Reminders
Livingston's mayor and township council issued a coronavirus safety update as local residents prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving.
LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston’s mayor and township council issued a coronavirus safety update this week as local residents prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving.
The advisory came amid a local rise in COVID-19 cases. According to Essex County, which notes its case total may differ from municipal tallies, Livingston has seen 798 cases of the virus as of Tuesday, with 72 deaths linked to the disease.

“As local cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Livingston, Mayor Rudy Fernandez and the Livingston Township Council remind residents that the safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving is at home with the people you live with. Getting together with family and friends who don't live with you increases the chances of either getting or spreading COVID-19 or the flu.”

- Wear a mask or face covering
- Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer
- Keep at least six feet of distance between yourself and others
Fernandez said that 2020 was a year unlike any other in recent history. And the stress of the pandemic is about to be compounded by a holiday season where many residents won’t get a chance to see loved ones.
