College Tour Open To Long Branch Students

Students can apply by March 9 for the "Get on the Bus" tour.

Long Branch students can get a preview of higher education on the "Get on the Bus" College Tour. The tour includes visits to seven universities from April 22-26.

The colleges include Coppin State, Virginia State, Hampton, Norfolk State, Maryland Eastern Shore, Bowie State and Morgan State. It includes transport in a deluxe coach bus; four-star hotel lodging; a tour t-shirt, backpack and jacket; meals; and a college informational binder.

Students must attend three of the four meetings beforehand at the Adam "Bucky" James Community Center (231 Wilbur Ray Ave.), according to the information packet. The meetings are scheduled for:

The program costs $450 but can be paid in installments. The first $100 is due Feb. 9. The Long Branch Housing Authority and Long Branch Recreation Department are organizing the tour. Click here for more information and to find out how to qualify.
