Egg Harbor's Towne 16 Movie Theatre Closes
Towne 16 Theatre closed after Thursday's showings.

The credits have rolled for the Towne 16 Theatre. The Egg Harbor movie theater closed Thursday night after its final showings.
"I became well-acquainted with all the little defects," Michael Auble, a former employee, wrote on Facebook. "And there was something about all the difficulties that seemed to add instead of detract. Towne 16 wasn't slick, it wasn't amazing, it wasn't perfect. But for some reason, I always liked it, in spite of and maybe because of everything."

"Knew this was coming when they stopped accepting credit cards, closed the bar and then stopped cleaning the place," Susan Kuc wrote on Facebook.
She was not the only customer to complain about the theater's state.

"Not surprised that place was turning into a real dump over the past years," Max Addicks said in the Egg Harbor Township Area Happenings Facebook group.
"Yeah ... it’s a shame," Jess Michael replied to Addicks' comment. "Can’t remember the last time I went in terms of what year but all I remember is hearing the mice/rats scratching all around me in my seat in the walls and who knows else where and that was it for me."
Attempts to reach the theatre for comments about complaints were not successful.
