
LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP, NJ — For the first time ever, Long Beach Island will hold a beach polo classic. Gates open for the horseback sport at noon Oct. 5 at East 68th Avenue, Ocean Beach, Long Beach Township. The match begins at 1 p.m.
The match costs $10 per person. You can purchase tickets here. A portion of proceed will support local charities. The rain date is Oct. 6.
Polo is one of the world's oldest known team sports. It was first played in Persia (Iran) as long ago as sixth century BC. Now more than 100 countries are part of the Federation of International Polo.
