Life Member of Italian American Memorial Association Dies at 81

Visitation for Gavino Napolitano is from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home in Ocean Township.

Gavino “ Guy” Napolitano, 81, of Ocean Township, died Friday, July 12 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. 

He was born in Asbury Park and lived in Ocean for the past 50 years. He was a self-employed tool and die maker for most of his life. He did design work for Reynolds Aluminum where he helped with the creation of several patents.

He was a life member of Italian American Memorial Association in Long Branch, a former member of the Asbury Park Elks and a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Asbury Park.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Stephano Napolitano and his brothers, Ralph and Nicholeus Napolitano. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Judith; 3 children, Ralph Napolitano and fiancé Courtney Donner and his son Tyler Napolitano, Gavino “Guy” Napolitano, Jr. and his wife Joanna and son Gavino III of West Long Branch and Nicole Woods and her husband Frank of Eatontown; sister, Theresa Woolley of Ocean, sister-in-law, Mary “Chickie” Napolitano of Ocean and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. There will be a funeral at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the funeral home followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Asbury Park. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Neptune.
