Long Branch Teacher Showed Porn To Student, 10, Says Prosecutor

LONG BRANCH, NJ — The Monmouth County prosecutor said this Long Branch elementary school teacher showed a 10-year-old female student pornography and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions.

Gustavo Barrientos, 53, who lives in Tinton Falls, was arrested Valentine's Day, Feb. 14 and is charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

The alleged underage sex abuse all occurred while Barrientos was employed as an elementary school teacher in the Long Branch School District, said police.

They did not specify which elementary school he worked at. Barrientos is no longer employed with the school district.

The investigation was the product of a joint investigation by members of the Long
Branch Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s
Bureau.
