A Love Letter To Rosanne
"You have a heart of gold bigger than the universe, a smile and laugh that are brighter than the sun."

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Sam Wike’s love letter to his wife, Rosanne:
Rosanne,
I know you've always felt that I don't NEED you and I've always told you that I wanted you. To me, the latter was most important. Well, even old dogs can learn something new.

We've been together 20-plus years, married for more than 17 of those. And as I've gotten older, I've come to realize that I NEED you as much as -- no make that more than -- I WANT you in my life. Your love for me is so overwhelming that I NEED it every second of every day. You are my addiction, you make me a better person and I hope that I enhance your life as much as you do mine. I NEED you in every facet of my life because you have given me the best life I could've ever imagined.
You have a heart of gold bigger than the universe, a smile and laugh that are brighter than the sun, a mind that is wicked smart and a sweet-yet-sexy sassiness that I adore. You're a beautiful woman, inside and out, a true partner to my life and I wouldn't have it any other way.

So you see, contrary to what you've thought and something I should tell you as often as I tell you I love you is that I NEED you. As I asked 17 years ago, to which you gave me the joy of saying yes, I'll ask you again: "Can I have this dance for the rest of my life?"
I love you Ro,
Sam
