56-Year Long Valley Resident Passes Away

Lillian Guenther, 93, of Long Valley, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Hackettstown Hospital. Lillian was born on May 9, 1925 in Hillside, NJ. She has lived in Long Valley since 1962 in the same home that she and her late husband, Alvin C. Guenther Sr., had built for them.

Lillian was a bird lover and had multiple parakeets. She took tremendous pride in her property and loved upkeeping the gardens and yard outside. Lillian was a member of Long Valley Senior Citizens group. Most importantly, she was well loved by her family.

Lillian is survived by her children, Patricia Lunger, Alvin C. Guenther, Jr. and wife Maureen, and John Guenther, her sisters, Helen Whiting and Kay Wintz, her grandchildren, Elaine, Warren, Kelly, Jeff, Stefanie, and Christopher, and her great grandchildren, Lauren, Kaleigh, Brier, Piper, Madison, Ty, Christopher Jr., Emma, Alec, and Noah. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin C. Guenther, Sr. and 8 siblings.

A Celebration of Lillian’s Life will include a visitation on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 10am to 1pm followed by a 1pm funeral service at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. Interment will follow at German Valley Rural Cemetery on Coleman Road in Long Valley, NJ.
