CHATHAM, NJ — Chatham Borough is planning to shut down the water main at 10 p.m. on Thursday to replace a fire hydrant at 40 Main Street, which is expected to impact water service for some areas around Main Street through Friday morning.
An alert message from the borough on Thursday afternoon stated there will likely be no water service from the time of shutoff on Thursday night until Friday at around 6 a.m., on Main Street from Hedges Avenue to the River, Roosevelt Avenue, University Avenue, Taft Street, Harding Street and Wilson Street.
The borough suggested residents and business owners in these areas be ready for the potential that they may be without water service during this time period.
