Class Of 2021 Award Ceremony Premieres For Long Valley Students

Students honored for awards and scholarships in West Morris Central High School's second annual virtual award ceremony.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — West Morris Central High School recognized its seniors in the Class of 2021 at its virtual awards ceremony, which premiered on Wednesday night.

Principal Timothy Rymer emceed the event, which was created with pre-recorded speeches and was posted on YouTube.

Among the highlights was the 2021 Distinguished Educator Award, a peer-nominated award, with the finalist selected by a panel of fellow staff members at the school, among 31 nominations. The entire staff at West Morris Central was chosen as the runner-up, with one of the school nurses, Susan Moor, receiving the award.

Rymer said Moor was picked for her commitment to keeping the school safe, which remained open all year during the pandemic, as well as building a relationship with the Washington Township Health Department.

The ceremony also recognized students in Washington Township's Long Valley including West Morris Central’s 2021 Valedictorian and Salutatorian, for ROTC and Coast Guard Scholarships, for Junior Awards, for Senior Awards from West Morris Central Administration, community partner scholarships and music and theater awards.

Graduation for West Morris Central’s Class of 2021 is scheduled for Thursday, June 10.
