Cop Hurt In Head-On Crash In Mount Olive: PD
The driver that struck the cop head-on was airlifted to a local hospital, police said.
MOUNT OLIVE, NJ — A Mount Olive police officer was injured in a head-on collision in which the other driver was seriously injured, Mount Olive police said.
Lieutenant Philip Lucivero was driving north on Rover Road around 12:45 p.m. when a car driving south began driving erratically towards him. The car driving south hit the car in front of Lucivero, swerved, and then hit Lucivero's police car head on, police said.
The driver of the southbound car needed to be freed using the "Jaws Of Life" and was airlifted to Morristown Memorial Hospital, police said. Their condition is unknown, and their identity is not being released pending family notification.

Lucivero was taken to Morristown Memorial Hospital with non-serious injuries, police said.
The family inside the car in front of Lucivero was not injured, police said.
