Drunk Driving, Cocaine Arrest In Long Valley: Police
The Hackettstown man was found stopped in front of the Schooleys Mountain General Store.
LONG VALLEY, NJ - A Hackettstown man was arrested and charged with drunk driving and possession after an incident with authorities on March 22, according to the Washington Township Police Department.
Officers located a running vehicle off the side of the roadway, stopped in front of the Schooleys Mountain General Store, authorities said. Officers made contact with the driver, later identified as a Hackettstown man who stated he pulled over to text someone.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the Hackettstown man was driving while intoxicated, in possession of two open alcoholic beverage containers consisting of whiskey and beer, and in possession of cocaine which he had also ingested, police said.

The Hackettstown man was taken into custody and transported to Washington Township Police Headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date in Morris County Superior Court on the following charges:
- Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Cocaine) a third degree charge.
- Driving While Intoxicated
- Reckless Driving
- Open Container
