DWI Checkpoint Announced In Morris County Ahead Of Halloween

The checkpoint will be held the Saturday and Sunday before of Halloween.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — A DWI checkpoint has been announced for Morris County the weekend before Halloween.

The checkpoint will be held in an undisclosed part of Morris Plains on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 27. It will be conducted by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office and the Morris Plains Police Department

The weekend before Halloween is frequently known as "Halloweekend" and is a popular time for parties and bar hopping, including heavy drinking.

The checkpoints are paid for using grants from the State Division of Highway Traffic Safety. There have been several around Morris County in the past two years, including in Chester, Morris Plains, Mount Olive, Parsippany, Roxbury, and previously in Washington Township.
