Garden Club of Long Valley Presents Scholarships to Local Students at CCM
The awarded was given to two students pursuing horticulture related studies.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Suzanne O’Malley, scholarship committee chairperson, recently presented two scholarships to the County College of Morris students on behalf of the Garden Club of Long Valley. Students Carlos Jimenez and Hunter Hildebrant were present to receive their awards on May 17th.
The Garden Club of Long Valley offers tuition assistance through the Deborah Burgess Sikorski Memorial Scholarship Fund; created to assist students in the pursuit of horticulture related studies. This scholarship was created in 2008 and has continued, in part, through the generosity of Robert Sikorski and his dedication to supporting the club’s endeavors. Mr. Sikorski is a long time resident of Long Valley.
The Garden Club of Long Valley is a non-profit organization dedicated to civic beautification. The club maintains local municipal gardens, contributes arrangements to the annual Long Valley Historic House Tour and Long Valley Christmas Tree Lighting as well as provides educational programs offered through the local library, hosts senior projects, supplies May baskets to families of veterans and hosts youth gardening through “Sprouts” membership.
