Garden Club of Long Valley Update

The Garden Club of Long Valley out in the Community

The Garden Club of Long Valley has been very busy this fall with various club projects from community education to civic beautification.

The club's most recent monthly meeting in early November featured a guest speaker, Sharon Wander President of the North Jersey Butterfly Club. The presentation educated members on butterfly life cycle, natural habitat, and what they eat.

With winter nearly upon us, club members have been working to clean up the various community gardens around town. In addition, many members participated in Clean Communities Week - 23 members volunteered a total of 29 hours to pick up garbage around 14 streets in Long Valley. Other community programs this fall have included workshops on Fall Botanicals and Holiday Florals, as well as visits to Little Brook Nursing Home, Heath Village and The Matheny School.
