'Hunchback of Notre Dame' Central Theatre's Fall Play

CHESTER, NJ — "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" is West Morris Central's fall production, and you'll have four chances to see it this November.

Based on Victor Hugo’s "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," Tim Kelly's non-musical adaptation tells the story of Esmeralda, the dancer destined for prostitution before she was kidnapped and raised by a Romani clan.

"Years later, as a young adult, Esmeralda captures the attention of many men, including the pitiful but good-hearted bellringer of Notre Dame, Quasimodo; Quasimodo’s adoptive father, Archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo; the temperamental poet and playwright, Pierre Gringoire; and the womanizing captain Phoebus de Châteaupers, whom she is later falsely accused of murdering," a synopsis says.

All performances will be at the West Morris Central High School auditorium. You can see the play on Thursday, Nov. 14 and Friday, Noc. 15 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 16 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
