MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - The slow-moving storm spraying the area in layers of ice began to take its toll on the infrastructure Tuesday night as trees and wires came down robbing power from nearly 4,500 customers in Morris County at one point.

According to the numbers provided by JCP&L shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the hardest hit was Mt. Olive with around 1,500 out. Others included Washington Township, where nearly 600 were in the dark. Morris Township registered around 700 without power and Jefferson Township 240. A smattering of moderate outages like the Mendhams hovered just shy of 200, Rockaway had a little over 180 and Parsippany-Troy Hills showed 177 out.

Small pockets of anywhere from 5 customers out to 90 peppered the County in places like Netcong, Dover, Morristown, Chester and Denville.
