Kennedy's Pub In Budd Lake Closes Permanently
The closure follows legal troubles for a chef, who was accused of spitting on a patron's meal several years ago.

BUDD LAKE, NJ — Kennedy's Pub, which made headlines in 2014 after the head chef was accused of spitting in a patron's food, permanently closed recently, Mount Olive Mayor Rob Greenbaum told the Daily Record.
Owner Bipinbhai Patel recently inactivated the pub's liquor license, the report said. He's reportedly considering other development ideas for the land, including a self-storage facility.
The pub gained national attention in 2014 when chef, John Stagg, 32, of Great Meadows, allegedly spit in a customer's food. He allegedly spit in the dish after a patron kept sending it back. He pled guilty to tampering with food the next year, but said that he didn't serve the spit-on bread.

The restaurant was also in the news more recently: in December 2017, a patron was arrested for allegedly flashing a gun at a manager who suggested he was too drunk to drive home.
