Long Valley Firefighters Battle Blaze In Mt. Olive Restaurant
The Longhorn Steakhouse in Mt. Olive was destroyed by a fire Tuesday morning.
MT. OLIVE, NJ - The Longhorn Steakhouse in the International Trade Center in the Flanders section of Mt. Olive Township was destroyed in a fire in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to officials.
The fire call came in shortly after midnight and despite the best efforts of the Flanders Fire Department, Budd Lake Fire Department and surrounding aid from places like Chester and Long Valley the building could not be saved, authorities said.
"Early this morning the Mt. Olive Twp. Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate a commercial structure fire in the Flanders section of town," the office said in a statement. "Unfortunately the fire at the Longhorn Steak House could not be brought under control, and the building had to be demolished due to the extensive damage. Incredible efforts were made by the Flanders Fire Department, Budd Lake Fire Department, and the surrounding mutual-aid companies."
