Long Valley Girl Impresses With Burgers On Chopped Junior
Find out what she made and if she got chopped here!

LONG VALLEY, NJ— Long Valley's own Olivia Acosta made her television debut on Food Network's Chopped Junior last night, impressing with her burger-themed concoctions.
Acosta competed on a special Make Me A Judge episode, where kids tried to cook their way to a spot on the judging panel.
In the first round, Acosta used the surprise ingredients of ground venison and quail eggs to make a schnitzel appetizer. She remained cool under pressure when she realizes they're not cooking quickly enough on a grill pan, and transfers them to a skillet for an easy finish.

After making it through to the second round, Acosta had to make an entree using shallot marmalade, ground beef, Taleggio cheese and Texas toast. Instead of going with the obvious choice of a burger, Acosta switches it up with a burger kebab. Unfortunately, a splash of vinegar curdles the Taleggio sauce she made.
That wasn't enough to send her packing, and Acosta made it through to the final round. Sticking with the burger theme, Acosta made an ice cream infused with the candied bacon and bits of chocolate marshmallow cereal treats. She pairs it with french toast made from brioche buns.

Unfortunately, Olivia was chopped in the final round despite a strong showing. You can watch her episode on the Food Network when it reruns Sunday March 12 at 5 p.m.
