Long Valley Junior Women’s Club​ Sponsoring Free, Gingerbread House Building Contest

WASHINGTON TWP., N.J.– The Long Valley Junior Women’s Club is sponsoring a free, gingerbread house building contest on Sunday.

Houses must be dropped off on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at 20 Schooley's Mountain Road, organizers said.

Entrants must register by Thursday.

The contest is part of Holiday Happenings, an annual event, where most downtown stores will be open

with crafts, music and other activities, said LVJWC spokeswoman Amanda Janke.

According to organizers, first place winners in the following categories will receive prizes:

• Child(ren) only – groups or individuals – ages 7-12;
• Child(ren) only – groups of individuals – ages 13-17;
• Family – one adult 18+ and one child;
• Scouts;
• Adults – groups or individuals – 18+.
