Long Valley Veterinarian Passes Away

Dr. Stuart S. Gutman, 83, worked as a veterinarian since 1977.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Obituary provided by the family:

A Long Valley resident and beloved local veterinarian since 1977, Dr. Stuart S. Gutman, 83, passed away earlier this week. He died peacefully, at home, on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 11, 2018. He is survived by his loving family, including his wife Judith Gutman, and his three children: daughters Kimberly Pinto and husband, Joe; CoryLynn Condron and husband, Kevin; and son Casey Gutman and wife, Amy; as well as five grandchildren, Matt, Nate, Maya, Natalie, and Jake.

Dr. Gutman led a remarkable life of service to his community, to his family, and to his friends, both human and animal. We know that all who were fortunate enough to cross his path were changed for the better, and we take comfort that his legacy of kindness, compassion, and empathy will continue to thrive and spread among and beyond all those who knew him.

In light of his life’s work, and as a man of science, Dr. Gutman chose to donate his remains to the medical profession. Per his wishes, there are no plans for ceremony or services at this time. If you would like to honor him, please consider donating to a local pet rescue organization (Eleventh Hour Rescue, ASPCA, St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, Common Sense for Animals, Popcorn Park Zoo, etc.).
