Longtime Long Valley Resident Passes Away

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Obituary provided by the Leber Funeral Home:

Annette Brittain (nee Mercurio), 65, of Long Valley, NJ passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 30, 2019. Annette was born on January 4, 1954 in the Bronx, NY and grew up in Elmont, NY. Annette has lived in Long Valley for the past 18 years and previously lived in Bayside, Queens. Annette worked for Brown and Brown in Roseland, NJ.

Annette enjoyed cooking, skiing, and shopping. She loved traveling when she was younger and recently loved to take trips to the beach, especially Cape May, NJ. Annette has a wonderful sense of humor and liked throwing parties to bring everyone together. Most important, she devoted her time to everyone else, including her family and friends.

Annette is survived by her husband of 29 years, Douglas Brittain, her daughter, Katerina Brittain, her parents, Andrew and Sophie Mercurio, and her nephew, Andrew Molloy. She was predeceased by her sister, Marie Molloy.

A Celebration of Annette’s Life will include a visitation on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 5pm to 9pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road, Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. An 11:30am funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 3 at St. Luke Parish in Long Valley, NJ. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ.
