Major Road Work Coming To Rt. 46 In 2019

The work will happen along Route 46 in Hackettstown, Washington, and Mount Olive.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Major road work is being planned for Route 46 in the summer of 2019, and will span three towns in two counties.

Work will be done in Hackettstown, Washington, and Mount Olive, Hackettstown police said. Most of it will be done during the overnight hours, and is expected to start in the summer of 2019 and wrap up by the summer of 2020.

All of the renovations will happen between the Stinger Street intersection in Hackettstown and the Sand Shore Rd/Naughright Road intersection in Mount Olive.

Some of the upgrades include milling and paving, bicycle "sharrows," and ADA curb ramps. The traffic light at the intersection of Rt. 46 and Moore Street is also expected to be fully reconstructed.

Another three intersections in Hackettstown will be renovated outside of this project: Route 46 with Grand Ave & High St, Route 46 with Mountain Ave, Willow Grove St & Warren St and Route 46 with East Ave in Washington.
