Morris County K9, Bomb Squad Clear Wawa Bomb Threat: Police

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - The Hackettstown Police responded to the Wawa, 299 Mountain Ave., Wednesday morning when they received a report a bomb was going to go off.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. someone called Wawa and reported that a vehicle in the parking lot was going to explode, police said. Upon arrival, officers cleared the building and the area was cordoned off.
The Morris County Sheriff’s Bomb K-9 and Morris County Sheriff’s Bomb Unit responded to conduct a search of the property. The area was deemed safe and Wawa then reopened, police said.

The incident remains under investigation. Hackettstown Office of Emergency Management, Hackettstown Department of Public Works, Mount Olive Township Fire Marshal’s, and the Hackettstown Fire Department assisted in scene management, police said.
