Morris County Man Dies In Car Crash On Route 206
Frank Iaconio Jr. was airlifted to the hospital Thursday, according to police.
MOUNT OLIVE, NJ - A 34-year-old Mount Olive man was killed in a two car crack up on Thursday morning, according to the Mount Olive Police Department.
According to authorities, Frank Iaconio Jr. was attempting a left turn with his 2002 Chevy Cavalier from Route 206 northbound from a residence located on the southbound side when the accident occured.
A 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by John Maulbeck, was traveling south when Iaconio’s vehicle crossed into his lane of travel and the Tahoe struck the Cavalier on the driver’s side, police said.

Iaconio was injured as a result of the crash and was transported by Atlantic Air One helicopter to Morristown Medical Center and later died as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash, police said. Maulbeck was uninjured.
The Mount Olive Police Department is investigating the crash with the assistance of the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Section, the Flanders Fire Department and the Mount Olive Township Fire Marshal’s Office.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation Traffic Diversion Team also assisted during the investigation. Route 206 was closed in both directions between Main Street and Flanders Bartley Road for approximately two hours for the investigation.
