New Habitat Home Coming Soon To Long Valley
During a live WDHA broadcast, attendees at the "Hammer For Habitat 2021" event helped to assemble walls for the Washington Township home.
LONG VALLEY, NJ — Volunteers started signing and constructed the walls for a four-bedroom, two-bath house that is expected to spring up soon on Settlers Ridge in Washington Township.
The ceremonial event was part of the “Hammer For Habitat 2021” initiative, held in Randolph on Wednesday.
Washington Township Mayor Matt Murello and his son attended and met up with Randolph Mayor Mark Forstenhausler, as well as volunteers from Morris Habitat for Humanity, who will help to oversee the project.

Murello, who has volunteered three times on a Habitat build, also inscribed a welcome message onto one of the walls. He said the family who qualifies for the Washington Township home will likely invest up to 400 hours of sweat equity themselves to help build their home.
“I’m very pleased that we are able to support a family in our town on this project,” Murello said.
