No Injuries In Weekend House Fire In Long Valley

LONG VALLEY, NJ — No one was injured when a fire tore through a Lenore Court home early Saturday morning, police said.

The fire broke out sometime before 3:30 a.m., the Fairmount Fire Company said. Its not clear if anyone was home at the time, but no one was injured, police said.

The family lost everything in the fire, police said. To help them get back on their feet, the police department is collecting gift card donations. They can be dropped off at the police department between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. during the week.

"They have two small boys along with the parents, so anything you can do is appreciated. Thank you for helping. Washington Township and its residents always come together in times of need, and we thank you in advance for your assistance to this family," police said.

Firefighters from several towns helped fight the blaze; it was fully extinguished by 10 a.m. In addition to fire companies in Washington Township, Chester Fire, Hackettstown Fire, Budd Lake Fire, Tri-County Fire, Pottersville Fire, Ralston Fire, Mansfield Fire, Independence Fire, Oldwick Fire, Califon Fire and Allamuchy Fire all responded.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. It does not appear to be suspicious, police said.
