Say Hello To Fall With Beer And Sausages In Long Valley
Celebrate Oktoberfest in a centuries-old barn nestled at the foot of lush Schooley's Mountain.
Beer may not have been the focal point of the original Bavarian celebration in October--history books say the modern-day Oktoberfest began as a more sedate wedding celebration--but it is certainly what we think of today when October rolls around. According to History.com, more than one million gallons of beer are consumed annually at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany.
If you can't get over to Europe anytime soon, there's plenty of beer--and sausages, pretzels, and other festivities--right here in Morris County. Enjoy beer and good food in a restored 200-year-old barn in the verdant heart of Long Valley. The Long Valley Pub and Brewery will be holding their Oktoberfest on Sunday, October 2, as long as the weather is good, under tents out of doors.
The full bar, specializing in a number of unique beers will provide live music and their special menu, including savory pub eats. Long Valley Pub & Brewery is located at 1 Fairmount Road in Long Valley. For more information on their upcoming Oktoberfest, to be held on Sunday, October 2, contact them at (908) 876-1122.
