Washington Township Police Log: Drug Possession and Active Warrant Complaints
Washington Township arrested three people last night while making two motor vehicle stops.

Washington Township made three arrests late Thursday evening and early Friday morning:
Aug. 18
At about 9:27 PM, Patrol Officer Frank Giaquinto stopped a car on East

Avenue for a motor vehicle violation. The driver was found to
have a suspended New Jersey Driver’s License along with an active warrant which was issued by Cape May

County Superior Court. The driver was arrested and taken to Washington Township
Police Headquarters. He was given a motor vehicle complaint for Maintenance of Lamps and
Driving While Suspended and later taken to Morris County Correctional Facility.
Aug. 19
At about 1:11 AM, Patrol Officer Michael Thompson stopped a car on Hearthstone Road for a motor vehicle violation. While speaking with the driver PO Thompson detected the odor of
marijuana emanating from inside of the vehicle. The front seat passenger was also showing signs of being under the influence of marijuana. A subsequent investigation by PO Thompson located marijuana inside of the vehicle. It was also determined that the front seat passenger had ingested marijuana earlier in the evening. Both driver and passenger were placed under arrest and transported to the Washington Township Police Headquarters. The driver was issued a Criminal Complaint for Possession of Marijuana (under 50 grams) along with a Motor Vehicle complaint for Speeding and CDS in a Motor Vehicle. The passenger was issued a Criminal Complaint for being Under the Influence of CDS. Both subjects were later released with a mandatory court date to appear in Washington Township.
