WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Washington Township changed the polling locations for some of its districts in the upcoming Primary Election. The changes will impact voters in Districts 3, 6, 10 and 12.

District 3 voters, who normally cast ballots at West Morris Central High School, will vote at the Fairmount Firehouse. Residents in Districts 6, 10 and 12 will shift in-person voting from Schooley's Mountain Firehouse to Valley View Chapel (115 East Mill Rd., Long Valley).

New Jersey's June 8 primary elections will mostly feature local, county and state races. Washinton Township's ballots will include primaries for Township Committee.

Three candidates comprise a contested Republican primary for two available seats — Kenneth W. Short, Kenneth William Roehrich and Joanne Schlesinger. Michael Brunken is running unopposed on the Democratic side.

Because of reduced coronavirus restrictions, New Jersey will conduct its primaries mostly in-person this year. All regularly operating polling places will be open for those who wish to cast their ballots on voting machines, Gov. Phil Murphy said in March.
