LONG VALLEY, NJ — There were 11 Class of 2021 graduates from West Morris Central High School who earned scholarship monies from the Long Valley Junior Women’s Club.

Though the club received many applications from students, with consideration given to each, the awards they say “were given to 11 students who stood out based on dedication to their academic career, their essay submission, financial need, leadership and school involvement, but most importantly those who demonstrated a commitment to serving and giving back within their community, which goes hand in hand with Long Valley Junior Women’s Club’s primary mission.”

Isabella DiLizia and Jaime Doris were Juniorette Scholarship recipients. Kimaya Bajpai, Cameron Brown, Chelsey Cochrane, Sarah Datesman, Danielle Even, Basil Lacampo, Vincent Jiang, Emily Meehan and Hailey Onweller received Community Service scholarships.

The club attributed its fundraising success to the growth of its programs like the Racks Valley Boutique, calling it a “record-breaking fundraising year.”

“We are thrilled to once again award many thousands more to our local students over the last two years than we have in the past,” said Kate Nelson, a spokesperson for the club.

In 2020, the volunteer-based club raised over $64,000 through fundraising events, plus Racks and its CARE children's enrichment program, Nelson said.

In addition to the scholarships, the club gave a helping hand with funds raised to local schools, emergency services, mental health and community safety programs and Long Valley's food pantry and senior center.
